The government only provides childcare for 38 weeks per annum with many nurseries allowing parents to stretch this over a longer year, ranging from 48-52 weeks per annum. But with parents looking to tighten their belts it seems increasingly common that parents opt to take up term time only places or reduce children’s attendance in the holidays, taking advantage of the increased ability to work from home or grandparent care.
Questions to consider are: How do you shift your nursery from running a 52 week year to considerably lower attendance during the school holidays and how do you make sure the school breaks don’t cost you money?
